Product and Scenics

Scenic photography does not come easy to me... but product photography does.

In scenic photography, you are at the mercy of the elements of nature.  You need to be patient and wait for your moment, which might not come for days.  You have to deal with the light that you are given, rather then the light you want.

I freelanced as a product photographer for a craft company for 8 years.   I made my own light.  I finessed the shadows and glare to where I wanted them to be.

Later I worked for an auction company here in Chicago, photographing rare and unusual items.

On the right is one of my few successful scenic shots.  It was at a rest stop on the highway.  The light treated me well that day.
